When we think about Armenia, our imagination pictures sun-scorched rocks and ancient tuff. But as soon as you turn north, onto the highway between Vanadzor and Dilijan, the scenery changes beyond recognition. This path is not just a movement in space, but an immersion in “Armenian Switzerland”.
🌿Elusive beauty
Here the mountains change their appearance at every turn, turning from harsh giants into soft velvet hills, densely covered with emerald forests. This route best reveals the diversity of the country. We are used to seeing Armenia as ocher and sultry, but in the Lori and Tavush regions it appears foggy, mysterious and infinitely deep.
🌿Symbiosis of cultures
The main magic of this road is in its people. Right in the middle of wild forests and alpine meadows, two worlds harmoniously coexist, creating a unique cultural code:
Ancient energy: Armenian villages with their centuries-old stone churches and hospitality that seems to be absorbed from the very air of these mountains.

Molokans have lived here for centuries, preserving their unique way of life. These “islands” fit so organically into the Armenian landscape that it is no longer possible to imagine this road without them.
